We assist a number of the country’s major construction builders, large and medium-sized contractors and consultants. Our lawyers also have long and extensive experience of assisting the supplier industry, including suppliers in the offshore sector.
We have gained a leading position on international ranking lists of legal services providers. We have long experience of and our lawyers have been deeply involved in the development of standard contracts used in the real estate, construction and offshore industries. On behalf of the Federation of Norwegian Industries, with which we have a cooperation agreement, we were also closely involved in the preparation of Nordic and European terms of delivery, such as the NL terms of delivery and the Orgalime general conditions.
Our lawyers have wide experience of conducting cases before the ordinary courts of law and other dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration. 16 of Haavind’s partners and all partners in the department have been admitted to the Supreme Court. No other law firms in Oslo have more partners with a right of audience in the Supreme Court. Many of our lawyers also have experience as mediators and arbitrators. Such experience and capabilities enable us to offer valuable assistance so that disputes may be avoided and resolved through negotiations.
Our lawyers arrange customised courses for clients and are frequently engaged as lecturers. We have written key literature in the area, such as the annotated editions of the standard contracts NS 3430 and NS 8405 by Kolrud et al. and Public Procurement by Marianne Dragsten. We have also prepared an annotated edition of NS 8407.
Recently we have been particularly involved in work on the following:
